I was about to get dinner in Hillcrest and suddenly I remember this memory of Di and me walking to the Commons freshmen year. It's not like that anymore. Not everything is so convenient. Not everyone can meet at the same place at the same time everyday. The commons is no longer a less-than-five minute walk away. Friends are no longer in the next dormitory over. This time, not everyone is living on campus, or even close to each other. It makes me really sad because I got to see my friends every night. Now, I hardly ever see my friends (unless they're art majors). Once a week or once every two weeks.
In other words, I miss everybody. To each and every one of my Southern friends, I miss you. I know I'm not even trying hard enough. I attend every single little party or show or get together I'm invited to. Though, often I find myself saying this about my friends..."I haven't seen her/him in forever!"
P.S. I need somewhere to live in Hattiesburg during this summer. Preferrably not in the dorm. Any suggestions?

I feel like a 13-year old fangirl saying this, but...omg, Kevin Barnes, me and Rachael are going to have your babies.
Friday's Of Montreal show in Baton Rouge was one of the best. Friends, Music, Dancing, and more! That night, I realized that I've never been so happy in my life.

i love my graphic design classes. last year, after finishing my first design portfolio in design I, i started to realized that i am where i'm supposed to be. i'm in the right major, in the right field of work, in the right school. i'm heading in the right direction. i was born to design.
i'm so happy that i'm surrounded by people who like to do what i do. i am modest about my work, but people remind me that i am good. i am flattered and appreciate everyone who continues to push and encourage me. i will work hard when it comes to something i love.
not that i'm the best at it. not that i have experience in all the programs. not that i will ace all my art classes. not that i know everything about graphic design, but i will learn.
and i will strive to do my best. and i will put forth the effort it takes. and i will live and breathe design.
i've never been so sure of anything else in my life.

graphic design is my passion. very few people i know really share that passion. i love my art classes and i love doing homework. i never thought i'd say it before, but i love school because i am doing what i love: designing.
i'm in the process of making a miniature music magazine for one of my classes and it's due in a few weeks. maybe i have been slacking just a little lately. my professor has told the class that so far, he doesn't think anyone will make an A and he's disappointed with most of our work. he seriously tells us this and it is not motivating at all.
but i know i'm capable. i hope he can see that i have that potential. if there's one thing i have confidence in, it's in designing.
last night i emailed him my cover and he liked it. "Just one pace away, your cover will be a grade A job. Thanks for hard work. Just like I said: you could do it. Now you made it happen." this means a lot to me. it made my day. now i'm pumped! because i know i can do this. i know i can at least get a B. now that i've gotten the hang of it, everything will flow and i will push myself harder to make the best magazine in that class.
